The Metalic thread for metallic aso oke, the cotton thread for the cotton aso oke or the silk thread for the silk aso oke. The thread is first washed and starch applied to it. It is then left to dry in the sun. After the drying; the material is rolled and the weaving begins. It can take 3-5 hours to weave one piece of aso oke and a much longer time for a customized design.
